oughterard

Yesterday, back home from a really amazing weekend in a hotel Oughterard, located on the shores of Lough Corrib in Ireland. A historic village, with its wild cottage pub, traditional stone fortifications and a 19th century church, which at the gateway of the beautiful Connemara Mountain area. His many shops, cafes and restaurants make it the ideal location and base for exploring the breathtaking landscape surrounding it.

The vibrant colors and well-maintained architecture makes the village the perfect mix of old Irish charm with contemporary level of service and comfort. The absolute crown jewel is the beautiful river Owen Riff through Oughterard in the mountains of Connemara runs. From my Hotel Oughterard it was easy to explore this beautiful environment, unique long walk.

There are many famous tourist spots within driving distance, as Aughnanure Castle, Kylemore Abbey and Inchagoill Island. My Oughterard hotels was also just 17 miles from Galway City, the third largest city in Ireland.

The Connemara Mountains, just west of the city, some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world. From the window in my Oughterard Hotel I could have a glimpse of capture. The rocky landscape, turf fields, the scattered lakes and grazing sheep on the mountain slopes are sights you will never forget. Of all the hotels in Oughterard I think I have chosen the best!
